About Catherine
Hi, I am Catherine, an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in the south east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
I have been a crafter for as long as I can remember. As a small girl I learnt how to do tapestry from my Grandfather. From an aunt I learnt how to knit. As I got older I learnt sewing and moved into cross stitch.
I remember as a kid having a tin of rubber stamps that my siblings and I would play with. Merrily stamping on sheets of typing paper. Then in the 80s or 90s (I can’t exactly remember) I discovered heat embossing. It is still magical watching the embossing powder melt to make a beautiful sentiment, only now we have the benefit of a heat tool. In the old days I used to hold it over a toaster trying not to burn my fingers!
Approximately 15 years ago I discovered scrapbooking and started going to a local craft store for lessons and to make my pages. It was a natural progression to return to card making in 2012 and create with all the wonderful products that were now available.
I love to design and create with paper, making cards and other paper projects. I love stamping, colouring and embellishing to create something gorgeous. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to share this with others and be a part of their creative journey. I joined Stampin’ Up! in 2017, allowing me to be your creative coach, to help with fun project ideas, share special offers, and, of course, teach you about fantastic stamping products.
I love all things nature and wildlife. I am a member of the Knox Gardens for Wildlife program which is a great local council initiative where we are taught what plants are indigenous to our local area and plant these in our gardens to create habitat for native wildlife.
Other favourite past times, when I get a chance, are reading, watching movies and catching up with family and friends over a hot chocolate!
